Fleet Preparation Technician

Department: 40 Dallas County Ground
Location: Dallas, TX

PRIMARY FUNCTION

• Ensures safe operation of emergency vehicles in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as CareFlite policies.
• Responsible for shuttling vehicles for repairs and service.
• Responsible for washing and detailing vehicles to ensure they are ready for delivery to the user to include washing the exteriors, cleaning the interior, vacuuming carpets, and wiping down surfaces.
• Assists the Fleet Services Manager in tracking vehicles for service readiness and vehicle preparation.
• Communicates any vendor performance issues to the Fleet Service Advisor.
• Ensures vehicles are transported to and from facilities safely and inspects and reports an issue to the service advisor.
• Collaborates with the Fleet Services Manager to address and resolve mechanical or monitoring device issues report by crews.
• Contributes to achieving KPIs and performance goals by adhering to department standards.
• Ensures all tasks are completed proficiently.
• Ensures all vehicles are clean, stocked, and prepped for delivery to the correct location.


QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or its equivalent
• Current Texas Class C driver’s license
• Ability to maintain confidentiality on information related to patients and personnel
• Current City of Dallas Shuttle Permit or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to make decisions, which have moderate impact on immediate work unit.
• Ability to understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions.
• Must be able to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation.
• Occasionally perform tasks while standing and walking up to 100% of time.
• Reach, bend, kneel and have high level of manual dexterity.
• Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.
