Landscape and Maintenance Technician

Landscape and Maintenance Technician


CareFlite is seeking a full-time skilled and experienced Landscape and Maintenance Technician. As a Landscape Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the landscape of our CareFlite Facilities. This is a hands-on role that requires knowledge of various landscaping techniques and the ability to operate power tools and equipment.

Compensation: $17.00-$25.00/hour

PRIMARY FUNCTION
• Perform garden maintenance tasks such as planting, pruning, and weeding.
• Operate power tools and equipment for landscaping projects.
• Mow lawns and perform regular lawn care activities.
• Provide tree care services, including trimming, pruning, and removal
• Dig trenches and install landscape features such as pathways or flower beds.
• Water lawns and plants where sprinkler systems do not yet exist.
• Fertilize lawns, shrubs, trees, and flower beds as needed.
• Pick up loose trash around buildings, parking lots, and entrances to campus each morning when needed.
• Sand campus entrances in the event of icy/wintry weather.
• Assist with minor maintenance including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, heating/air, painting as needed.
• Responds promptly to all on-call pages/work orders and report any maintenance or landscape issues and/or concerns to the supervisor in a timely fashion.
• Assist with repairs of tools and equipment to ensure the safe and proper usage of equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or its equivalent
• Current Texas Class C driver’s license
• Ability to effectively communicate Verbal / Written English
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in landscaping or related field preferred
• Knowledge of various landscaping techniques and practices
• Familiarity with power tools used in landscaping
• Ability to operate mowers, trimmers, and other lawn care equipment
• Ability and Knowledge of operation and towing of trailer.
• Understanding of tree care principles and practices
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to make decisions, which have moderate impact on immediate work unit.
• Ability to understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions.
• Must be able to see and speak with staff and observe equipment operations.
• Occasionally perform tasks while standing and walking up to 100% of time.
• Reach, bend, kneel and have high level of manual dexterity.
• Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.
• Frequently exposed to extreme temperatures.
• Required to wear personal protective equipment while performing specific tasks or in certain areas.
• Sitting, Crawling, Climbing, stooping, kneeling squatting, body twisting, sense of touch, gripping, lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs.,
