Senior Accountant

CareFlite  Senior Accountant


PRIMARY FUNCTION

This position is responsible for assisting the Controller with advanced accounting functions within the CareFlite’s Accounting Department.

This position requires a personal commitment to CareFlite’s mission and core values and the willingness to demonstrate those core values in all activities performed for CareFlite or while representing CareFlite.  The incumbent(s) of this position are active participants in the organization and support the changes necessary for the organization’s survival.

REPORTS TO / SUPERVISES

This position reports directly to the Controller.  This position is not responsible for the supervision of any other CareFlite personnel but must work collaboratively with other personnel to resolve any accounting issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety:  

No specific duties.

Customer Service: 

Works with Controller and other managers to reconcile general ledger accounts.  May assist with the data entry of accounts payable invoices and PO’s as needed, maintains and researches general ledger account activity.  Processes necessary adjustments and conducts bank reconciliation.  Reviews billing reconciliation and works with the appropriate departments to make appropriate changes.  Prepares invoices for non-patient account receivables to include follow-up on old invoices. Interacts with CareFlite vendors to address vendor billing inquiries.  Responsible for monthly journal entries and producing financial statements.

Quality Assurance: 

Reports errors and omission in accounting records promptly.

Incumbent(s) will actively participate in quality assurance/improvement activities as directed by their supervisor.  Each incumbent will acquaint themselves with the quality assurance surveys and/or quality improvement projects which affect their practice and adhere to the standards or changes implemented.  Each incumbent will provide feedback in a positive, proactive manner on quality assurance/improvement activities which impact their practice.

Incumbent(s) will search out opportunities to use their free time while on duty to improve their professional skills or participate in work related projects.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.  Additional accounting courses preferred.

Minimum three years experience in accounting field.

Proficient with computer hardware and software specifically word processing, financial data bases and spreadsheets.

Business writing and telephone reception skills.
