Logistics Technician

CareFlite Logistics Technician


PRIMARY FUNCTION

To bring help and hope to patients and families following a terrible trauma, a sudden medical event, or any medical transport. To be part of the finest EMS team in the United States.

This position serves to enhance the effectiveness of the CareFlite Ground operations and to provide the Ground Operations Manager, Supervisors and staff with day-to-day logistical support.  The position supports the operational activities of the CareFlite Ground program and has primary responsibility for cleaning, stocking and daily maintenance of vehicles and equipment.  This position reports to the Logistics Supervisor directly, supports the Field Supervisors and works collaboratively with other CareFlite managers/supervisors to accomplish a team approach to the CareFlite mission of providing safe, high quality, cost effective medical transportation.

 

REPORTS TO

  • This position reports directly to the Logistics Supervisor

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports CareFlite mission and vision daily by adhering to core values of Safety, Customer Service, Teamwork, Quality, and Fiscal Responsibility.

 

Safety as measured by decreasing the number of Medical Units and equipment failures and returns for repair.

  • The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for the safe operation of all Medical Equipment by utilizing a tracking system for Biomedical equipment testing compliance, inventory distribution, and repair status in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations; as well as CareFlite Policies and Procedures.
  • The Logistics Technician is responsible for oversight of repair of medical equipment to ensure proper working order.

Customer Service as measured by preparedness of fleet in regard to medical equipments and supplies.

  • The Logistics Technician is responsible for assisting in preparation of vehicles for service.
  • The Logistics Technician is responsible for cleaning and stocking ambulances in preparation of being placed in service.  The ambulance will be stocked to reflect the appropriate CareFlite unit checklist as guided by the Medical Equipment List in the protocols.
  • The Logistics Technician will inventory equipment, supplies and medical equipment parts daily.
  • The Logistics Technician will actively promote teamwork and cooperation with other CareFlite and /or outside agency personnel.

 

Urgency as measured by compliance with timely vehicle preparation and equipment repair.

  • The Logistics Technician will manage his/her time appropriately to ensure that all areas of job responsibilities are adequately covered.

 

Quality Assurance/Improvement as measured by comprehensive and accurate inventory management and distribution to CareFlite air and ground bases.

 

  • The Logistics Technician will document daily task overview and status of projects to the Logistics Supervisor in a daily end of shift report.
  • The Logistics Technician will communicate any vendor performance issues to the Logistics Supervisor.
  • The Logistics Technician will demonstrate clear and effective communication in both written and oral form.
  • The Logistics Technician is responsible for ensuring that CareFlite is perceived by its customer in a positive manner by conducting all interaction in a professional and courteous manner.
  • In coordination with the Logistics Supervisor, the Logistics Technician is responsible for ensuring any supply and equipment issues reported by crews after daily check-off are addressed and resolved.
  • The Logistics Technician will contribute to the success of KPIs and performance goals by adherence to department standards.

 

Urgency as measured by compliance with ordering and order tracking, inventory status and tracking, and receiving goods.

 

  • The Logistics Technician will manage his/her time appropriately to ensure that all areas of job responsibilities are adequately covered.

 

Fiscal responsibility as measured by appropriate utilization of resources

 

  • The Logistics Technician will identify efficiency or cost saving ideas in a timely manner to the Logistics Supervisor.
  • The Logistics Technician will search out opportunities to utilize their free time while on duty to improve their professional skills or participate in work related projects.       
  • The Logistics Technician will ensure all tasks are done in a proficient manner.

 

Teamwork as measured by attendance, punctuality, customer comments, and adherence to CareFlite’s Corporate Compliance Program:

 

  • The Logistics Technician will focus his/her efforts on promoting collegial interdepartmental relationships and serving as a resource to those he/she supervises.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  

 

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Current Texas Class C Driver License
  • Effective written and oral communications and ability to converse in English and be understood when speaking English.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

Salary Range: $13.00 - $20.00/hour
